Local business Plymouth Fire Protection has been awarded accreditation from Safe Contractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.
Safe Contractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.
Employing 8 people, Plymouth Fire Protection is principally involved in the Fire Protection sector, specialising in the Fire Alarm System and Smoke Ventilation System sector, most recent clients have included major players such as Workman LLP, Threadneedle and the St Luke’s Hospice Trust.
The company’s application for Safe Contractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.
On behalf of Plymouth Fire Protection, Martin Farley explained how the work schedules had increased two fold since being awarded Safe Contractor Accreditation. Furthermore, he says “Safe Contractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by our insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal. Safe Contractor is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly fluent throughout the property, facilities management, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are big users of our contracted services”.
